Their mission is to protect and honor the human-animal bond through emergency financial assistance to vulnerable families faced with medical expenses to save the life of a pet, and support for all families through education and pet loss counseling. Their financial assistance does not cover routine procedures such as spay or neutering, microchipping, etc.They are looking for volunteers to help out with some of their events, more information about volunteering is available on their website. To be eligible for their emergency financial assistance you must be a resident of Santa Cruz, Monterey or San Benito County, be low income and have a case where the prognosis with veterinary intervention is good. They do not have staff that speak any other language besides English. But they are still able to assist people who speak other languages.
