The In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Program helps the elderly and disabled to remain at home when they are not able to fully care for themselves by paying for a variety of services including domestic and personal care. To be eligible for IHSS you must: be over the age of 65 or be blind or disabled, be a U.S Citizen, Qualified Alien or Prucol Alien, live in Santa Cruz County and meet their low income requirements (income status based on Medi-Cal eligibility). To apply for IHSS you can call and apply, email, mail or fax a completed application or you can walk into their Santa Cruz or Watsonville location to apply. Bothe of their locations are wheelchair accessible and have staff that speak English and Spanish. They are able to use translating services for clients that speak other languages.
